Competing at Nate Brous’s “4ForFeb" grip contest in West Deptford, New Jersey on February 26, John McCarter pulled 43.8kg/96.36 lb. for a new world record on the IronMind Hub.
McCarter, CoC 3 '12 uses an unorthodox, dynamic style that is sure to raise questions, so going forward—to protect all parties involved—IronMind will reinforce the need for a clear pause at the top of the stroke before the referee can give the down signal.
In addition to McCarter’s performance on the IronMind Hub, Brous, CoC3 '14, Red Nail '13 noted, “I can tell you John is strong as a bull and lifted 93kg on the LBH [Little Big Horn] and 49.15kg on the BlockBuster (over WR but not 1kg over) the same day.”
Congratulations, John, it’s official: you have broken the men’s world record on the IronMind Hub!
IronMind would like to thank everyone who’s opinion we sought as this lift was reviewed—your input was very much appreciated.
