“There will be a very strong field of eight athletes with the old war horse Derek Boyer there to defend his title,” Lyndon continued. “After a series of qualifying events in the past year building up to this event, we will have a very strong field to challenge for the title.”
Here are the events for the 2010 Australia’s Strongest Man contest.
Truck Pull: 26 ton
Super Yoke: 375 kg
Log Lift: 125 kg for maximum reps
Samson's Barrow: 300 kg at the handles
Deadlift: 315 kg maximum reps
Stones: five stones ranging from 115 kg to 180 kg, loaded at 125 cm
Lyndon said, “All events with the exception of the truck pull are on a grass surface,” and the “top three places are awarded direct entry to the Southern Hemisphere's Strongest Man (SHSM) later this year.”
