The competitors at the 2001 World's Strongest Man (WSM) contest raised the issue of compensation, seeking increased prize money.

Following up on these discussions, IFSA director Douglas Edmunds, Ph.D. announced today that a survey focusing on these issues was being prepared and would be sent to all 2001 WSM competitors.  This survey will give competitors a chance to express their opinions and any concerns they might have; and it will also allow these issues to be discussed before contracts are signed, rather than after.
