WHEA (World Heavy Events Association) has been approved as partner-membership to the Finnish Olympic committee,” Jyrki Rantanen reported to IronMind.
“This is a huge step to WHEA events credibility as actual sports. We might not see strongman, pole fitness or grip events in the Olympics, but we can build them to be respected [clean] sports along with other (bigger) events.
“On the credibility side, we are working hard to expand our actions worldwide, and we might see interesting things happening in upcoming years as WHEA has already members from UK, Brazil, USA and UK, along with the Scandinavian and Baltic countries,” said Rantanen.
