Veneberg Announces Retirement...

On the coattails of his victory at this weekend's IFSA Dutch Grand Prix, popular strongman Berend Veneberg announced that he will retire after this year's World's Strongest Man competition. Veneberg is a well known competitor on the international strongman circuit, and is a very accomplished powerlifter as well. Veneberg, who won this year's European Strongman Championships, is a seven-time winner of the Dutch powerlifting championships, six-time winner of the Dutch Strongest Man contest, and a powerlifting world championship medalist, among his many accomplishments. Veneberg plans to remain active in the sport after his retirement, and will be working as an IFSA referee.
