USA Weightlifting has a number of key events scheduled for later this year, and early 2000. John Thrush is putting on this year's American Open, which will draw some of the top U.S. weightlifters, and is being held December 17-19 at the Sheraton Tacoma (Tacoma, Washington). Mike Burgener is holding a USA Weightlifting Club Coach course at Rancho Buena Vista High School (Vista, California) on April 8th and 9th. The venerable Lost Battalion Hall (Rego, New York) is the site for the Larry Mintz Memorial meet on January 29th.
