The Sierra Strongman Shootout, the last regional qualifier leading up to selection for this year's World's Strongest Man (WSM), was canceled today, but a replacement might be held.
Scheduled for June 8th and 9th, this was the last in a series of four events building up to the US national championships, from which WSM selections will be made. Jim Davis, head of IFSA-USA, said that he is sorry about this last minute change, but "it's one of those things that happens sometimes to promoters," he explained. Davis said he's working on a setting up another contest, ideally on the same date, to minimize the impact on the competitors's training schedules, and hopes to have the details settled shortly.
