Martin Tesovic (SVK), who has been training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, snatched 195 kg last night and cleaned 235 kg. Tesovic swept the 99-kg class at the 1997 World Weightlifting Championships, and most recently, won the bronze medal in the total in the 105-kg class at the 1999 European Weightlifting Championships. Tesovic had been bothered bysore knees yesterday, but still made the big lifts in what was supposedto be his last heavy workout before returning home. The snatch was done with straps, and he made no attempt to jerk the 235 after cleaning it.
