Almaty, Kazakhstan – Showing that the future of women's weightlifting is now, Tang Gonghong (China) cleaned 182.5 kg on her third attempt today at the Asian Weightlifting Championships, but she missed the jerk.

Opening with a world record of 170 kg, Tang mauled the weight, and followed with 175 kg for another new world record in the clean and jerk, as well as one in the women's 75 kg category total (302.5 kg). Rani (India) was second in the total (240 kg) and Kanunova (Kazakhstan) was third (237.5 kg).
