York Barbell Company store manager Mike Locondro called IronMind to describe plans on May 21, 2011 to induct Slim “The Hammerman” Farman into the York Hall of Fame, placing him next to his mentor, The Mighty Atom.

Slim has entertained and amazed crowds for decades as he levered heavy sledge hammers and noodled big piece of steel bar, all the while presenting the persona of a man who broke rocks with a sledge hammer for a living as he taunted the blazing sun to give him a bigger challenge.

More details will be publicly announced in January, Locondro said, but he has a full day’s activities planned featuring All-Round Weightlifting, kettlebells, traditional feats of strength, etc.
