NASS president Bill Holland is putting on the 2001 Rolling Thunder® Deadlift Nationals, as a benefit for Whit Baskin.

This contest, scheduled for March 16th in Euless, Texas, will be the premiere US National Championship on this popular test of grip strength, and will give people a chance to try their hand at the event before this year's world championships in Hawaii.

Baskin, who started his strongman career in Holland's competitions, was severely injured in an automobile accident last December. Holland has led the way in trying to help with the burden of the huge medical expenses facing the Baskin family, and all proceeds from this event will go to the Whit Baskin Medical Relief Fund.
