Rolling Forward: Absolute Men’s World Record Reset
by Randall J. Strossen, IronMind Enterprises, Inc. © 2018
The absolute men’s Rolling Thunder world record has been reset to ensure that no shadow of a doubt clouds its authenticity.
This standard—the absolute world record for the Rolling Thunder—is vital to the grip strength world: The Rolling Thunder has been contested in world championships for almost 20 years and its history includes a list of competitors that is filled with bold face names in the strength world, along with the biggest names in the grip strength world. The Rolling Thunder launched armlifting and remains its cornerstone event—the Rolling Thunder’s leading position in the world of grip strength competitions cannot be overstated.
Given its stature, it’s imperative that the Rolling Thunder world records be free from even the appearance of irregularity and after an extensive review, the men’s absolute world record has been set to 130.5 kg, based on a successful lift by Alexey Tyukalov on June 30, 2013.
