In a first, the Highland Games are going to Brazil, and in a big way.

Scheduled for October 14th - 15th, this Highland Games World Grand Prix final will feature some of the top names on the circuit: Matt Sandford, Petur Gudmundsson, Bruce Aitken, Francis Brebner, Wout Zijlstra are all scheduled to compete.

Matt Sandford is the current world champion, Bruce Aitken holds the world record in the light hammer, and Wout Zijlstra holds the world record in the 56-pound weight for height, so even though it's late in the season, world records could fall. David Webster will announce the event, and Douglas Edmunds will referee.
