Peshalov won the 62-kg category at the European Weightlifting Championships, beating a field that included Suleymanoglu. Peshalov hit 147.5/177.5 for a 325 total. Minchev was second, with 145/177.5 for 322.5, and Suleymanoglu was third, with 140/170 for a 310 total. Eariler, Mutlu dominated the 56-kg category with 135/165 for a 300 total; Ivanov was second, with 125/157.5, the same lifts hit by Jigau, who was third.
