(Antalya, Turkey) Halil Mutlu dominated the 56-kg category at the World Weightlifting Championships today.

Mutlu had gotten things started with a world record in the snatch, and when he opened in the clean and jerk with a strong 162.5, nobody was surprised to see him move to 168.5 in a bid to break the world record in the jerk and the total. After a powerful clean, however, Mutlu missed the jerk, and his third attempt was largely a repeat of his second, so he ended the day with one world record, three gold medals and yet another demonstration of who owns this class.
