Also noteworthy was the performance by 16-year old Chance Cranford (Sherman, Texas), who won the teenage category. Cranford weighs 160 pounds, and is blind, but he completed all six events. Cranford is trained by Brady Baskin, Whit Baskin's younger brother. Contest promoter Bill Holland said temperatures were in the range of 103 degrees (Fahrenheit) at yesterday's event in Arlington, Texas.
