With Boevski not competing, the 69-kg class was up for grabs at the European Weightlifting Championships. Coming through on his final clean and jerk, Lavrenov (BLR) beat Markov (BUL) on bodyweight. Lavrenov did 150/187.5 and Markov did 152.5/185. Arslan (TUR) was third, with 150/175.
