Svend Karlsen edged hometown hero Janne Virtanen to win the IFSA European Strongest Man competition in Helsinki, Finland today.

Karlsen had 61.5 to Virtanen's 61 points; Zydrundas Savickas and Magnus Samuelsson were next, tied with 47 points.  Martin Muhr was 5th, with 46.5 points, and Flemming Rasmussen was 6th, with 45 points.
