In honor of the late Jon Pall Sigmarsson, a major strongman competition is being organized for next year.

Scheduled for September 2003, the Jon Pall Sigmarsson Classic is being organized by Hjalti Arnason.  Arnason said he plans to invite eight of the world's top strongman competitors to this event, and by all expectations, it will be a major competition and a suitable memorial to the legendary Jon Pall Sigmarsson.
