John Brookfield: Mile-Long Truck Pull

A longtime advocate of long-term fitness, John Brookfield has teamed up with Kirk Nobles to see how fast they can pull a semi one mile.
A couple of weeks ago, the pair pulled a +40,000 lb. semi one mile in 69 minutes for a world record, and John told IronMind that they are coming back for more. Well, it’s less actually.
“I will keep you updated, but we will be doing another mile pull on November 24, using the same truck same weight. We will hopefully get the time in under an hour on that date,” Brookfield said.
Even when he was widely considered to be one of the world’s elite in lower arm strength (second man in the world to certify on the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper and first man in the world to certify on the Red Nail), John Brookfield always trained for and could demonstrate stamina by the boatload.
Among his contributions to the field, Brookfield developed the Battling Ropes system a few years ago, a training program that enjoys widespread popularity.
