Some grip guys can’t get enough and the day after the Norwegian Grip Nationals, contest organizer Thomas Larsen told IronMind, “we did a record breaker event and it was getting late so we wanted to do the CTD Challenge the next day.”
Cutting to the chase, Jesse Pynnonen, Thomas Larsen and Tomi Tuomi sailed through the Crushed-To-Dust (CTD) Challenge, which requires mastery of a Captains of Crush® No. 2 gripper, 20 kg on the IronMind® Hub and 90 kg on the Rolling Thunder®, in a demonstration of superior all-around grip strength recognized worldwide.
Congratulations, gentlemen—your names have been added to the Crushed-To-Dust Challenge Certification list—and many thanks to Jouni Mahonen for refereeing these attempts.

Tomi Tuomi (Finland) had already lifted 20 kg on the IronMind Hub, closed the Captains of Crush No. 2 gripper and with this 90-kg lift on the Rolling Thunder, he completed the Crushed-To-Dust Challenge. IronMind® | Courtesy of Thomas Larsen
