1993 "World's Strongest Man" winner Gary Taylor (Wales) will be refereeing the five-event international strongman series announced last week by AFSA. Taylor, who is also distinguished by his second place finish in the snatch (110 kg category) at the 1984 Olympics, has been working to overcome a severe knee injury suffered in 1997 (see MILO, Volume 5 - Number 2). Taylor said of his new role as an international referee: "I've been invited by Manfred [Hoeberl, AFSA President]...It will keep my hand in it a little bit."
