Niina Jumppanen won the 2012 Finland’s Strongest Woman contest and from the sound of things, coverage on the Finnish national TV channel YLE2 was so popular among weekend shows that it is said this bodes well for next year’s event.
Not to forget the strongman side of things either, as Jarno Jokinen defended his title in the Finnish Strongest Man contest and Janne Hartinkainen racked up his seventh title in the 105-kg class.
Also in the news, Anett von der Weppen won Germany's Strongest Woman 2012.
This was a four-event contest and had five German competitors, but a source close to the contest told IronMind, “Probably the competition will take place next year as an open cup, so that
athletes can participate from abroad.”
