IronMind had a chance to check in with last year’s IHGF Highland Games World Champion, Dan McKim.

“I've recently switched fields as I am now in shipping and logistics—specializing in LTL, truckload and international shipments,” McKim said. “eShipping has challenged me to pursue my passions and bring shipping and logistics insight to companies in manufacturing, distribution and supply chain in the exercise and strength equipment as well as nutritional supplements.
“With my background in the highland games, strength training and personal training, my company feels I can better serve this industry and bring companies a freight advocate who truly understands the needs of these companies. So, strength community, you have a freight expert in your corner to help answer any questions or concerns you might have on any of your shipping!
“My company is also incredibly supportive of my competitions and is allowing me the time and travel needed to train and defend my title as National Champion (3x) and hopefully regain the podium as World Champion. I'm gearing up for the inaugural Scottish Highland Games at the Arnold Classic this March as off-season training is in full swing. I'm focusing on my weaknesses in leg and overhead strength and hope to be more formidable in the weights for distance next year. This crop of throwers is tougher than ever and you can't win with a weak or sub-standard event—I'm focusing on being a complete competitor this off-season,” said McKim.
