(Antalya, Turkey) After the snatch, defending Olympic champion Galabin Boevski (BUL), was in fifth place at the World Weightlifting Championships, although the hole wasn't as deep as it sounds.

Competition had been fierce in the snatch in the 69-kg category at the World Weightlifting Championships, with 155 kg taking first place and the next five lifters all doing 150 kg.  In the jerk, Boevski came out for the final attempt, 190 kg, for the gold in jerk and in the total, and was greeted with a chorus of boos. The booing got louder as Boevski fought his way up with the weight, but after he punched it overhead, he bowed to the crowd.
