CTD+ . . . Crushed-To-Dust® Plus Announced

Conceived as a quick, fun way to demonstrate superior all-around grip strength, the Crushed-to-Dust!® (CTD) Challenge has been embraced worldwide for over a decade: achievable for mere mortals, but also the target for some of the world’s leading grip strength competitors, it’s the de facto standard of grip strength for everyone whose performance, or very life, might depend on the strength of their hands.
Embracing that idea of being quick, fun and all-around, the Crushed-to-Dust Plus (CTD+) is another animal: it defines world class all-around grip strength, and certifies those with the world’s strongest hands . . . pretty serious bragging rights.
“Like the original Crushed to Dust! Challenge, this is the real McCoy: unlike winning a grip contest with 2 competitors, or setting a ‘record’ on a piece of equipment with no real competitive history, the CTD+ is like running the 100-meter dash to see how fast you are or seeing how much you can clean and jerk to determine how strong you are. Enough people at all levels have competed on these events (Captains of Crush® grippers, Rolling Thunder® and IronMind Hub), long enough, to make your results meaningful,” explained an IronMind press release.
Crushed-To-Dust Plus (CTD+) Standards
The same implements and rules that define the Crushed-To-Dust Challenge are used for the CTD+, except that one must be certified on the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper to be eligible, and the required performance level for each event is as follows,
Close a Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper
Lift 35 kg/77 lb. on an IronMind Hub
Lift 115 kg/254 lb. on an IronMind Rolling Thunder
Our guess is that less than a handful of people on the face of the earth can demonstrate grip strength meeting this standard, but we encourage all who are qualified and interested to pursue this goal—it’s a grip strength challenge such as has never been seen before.
CTD+ represents a new rarified level of achievement in the grip strength world—congratulations to all who seek it, and highest honors to those succeed in achieving it.”
