Budding Bulgarian superstar Galabin Boevski is coming back strongly from the knee surgery he had earlier this year. The 69-kg lifter turned in a dazzling performance at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships, but sat out this year's European Weightlifting Championships as he was coming off arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. With three months to go until the Sydney Olympics, Boevski said he is still taking things cautiously, but is already lifting in the 150/190 range. If healthy, Boevski is considered a prohibitive favorite for the gold medal in Sydney.
