With plans announced for amateur World’s Strongest Man (WSM) gyms, what of contests?

IronMind asked IMG’s Carl Lawrence directly whether the scope of the licensing agreement included contests and Lawrence said, “Amateur competitions are and we want all these people to contact Michael directly,” referring to Michael King, who entered the agreement with IMG.

Following the extremely successful CrossFit model, it's expected that the WSM gym owners would get certified and that there will be a contest structure that begins at the local level and progresses up to the amateur World's Strongest Man contest.
