There was probably no better place for Alexey “Tank” Tyukalov to assault the men’s world record in the CoC Silver Bullet Hold than at Juha Harju’s International Contest of Hand and Grip Strength in Kirkkonummi, Finland today.
Alexey “Tank” Tyukalov destroyed the men’s world record in the CoC Silver Bullet Hold today with a huge time of 52.49 seconds. For men, the challenge is to use a No. 3 Captains of Crush gripper to hold a CoC Silver Bullet with 2.5 kg hanging from it for as long a possible. Juha Harju came into the contest as the world record holder in the event at 46.6 seconds, and he was in the field as a competitor, as was Jyrki Rantanen, who has been promoting the IronMind Grip Classic series. As you’d expect, Harju runs a tight ship and the video of these attempts can serve as a model of how to referee and document the C0C Silver Bullet Hold.
Cutting to the chase, Alexey “Tank” Tyukalov didn’t just break the men’s world record in the CoC Silver Bullet Hold: he launched it to a new level with an official time of 52.49 seconds and now talk will begin about who will be the first man to break one minute in this grip strength challenge.
