Denny Ployhar has broken his own world record for Rolling Thunder Pull-ups, cranking out 32 reps.
Denny first hit IronMind’s radar when he broke the world record for Rolling Thunder Pull-ups last year with 28 reps, to eclipse Evan Raftopoulos’s world record of 27 reps.
Earlier this year, Denny tacked on another 2 reps, to boost the world record to 30 reps.
Now, he’s raised the bar to a whopping 32 reps (Denny did 33 reps, but the referees ruled that the first rep didn’t count due to incomplete extension).
Denny lives in Montana, is 34 years old, 5’ 9” tall and weighs 169 lb. He had told IronMind that “for every rep you see me do, I have done about 500 in training,” and is quick to credit his wife for her support and help.
He “used to compete in powerlifting and more recently armwrestling,”Denny said, but now, his name with forevermore be linked to the Rolling Thunder Pull-ups world record.
“Two years ago, my first attempt at Rolling Thunder pull-ups was 22, training as hard as know how. I was able to increase by 50%…also thought it would be cool to do it in my IronMind shirt! I wanted to challenge myself once more to beat my previous record.
“I know that big hands can be helpful for the Rolling Thunder, so I wanted to show that I don’t have big hands and it doesn’t take any special genetics to accomplish things like this.
“Thank you IronMind: this has been one of the highlights of my life,” Denny said.
