The 4th Annual Western Illinois Strongman & Strongwoman contest will be held on May 12th in Concord, Illinois. The contest is sponsored by Triopia High School, and besides wanting competitors and spectators to have fun, the goals are to raise food and shoes for the Macomb Salvation Army and money for the Triopia Athletic Boosters. The entry fee is $35.00; admission for spectators is three non-perishable food items or a pair of used shoes that are still in good shape. There are multiples classes, wearing a kilt is encouraged and the organizers said, "We only want drug free competitors." The deadline for entries is April 28th.
