Continuing to make his mark on the grip strength world, Tanner Merkle has certified on the Captains of Crush No. 3.5 gripper—making it official that when it comes to crushing grip strength, he’s among the most elite in the world.
A rock climber, Tanner Merkle works as a respiratory therapist in a Dallas hospital, and he told IronMind he trains grippers “twice a week . . . working up to a few heavy singles followed by doubles (3 -5 sets).”
Merkle has some big notches in his grip belt: “I am a two-time international champion (overall) for the King Kong . . . Red Nail and CoC No. 3 certified, APL 2019 90-kg Rolling Thunder world champion, CoC No. 4 Silver Bullet Hold world record holder.”
And now, three and half years into gripper training, add certification on the Captains of Crush No. 3.5 . . . hmm, does mean Merkle will extend this pattern with a certification on the Captains of Crush No. 4 gripper as he eases into his 4th year of gripper training?!
Here's the video of Tanner Merkle's official attempt on the Captains of Crush (CoC) No. 3.5 gripper.
