Sin City Strongman Challenge 2011: Winner Goes to Giants Live

No need to play your cards right: the Sin City Strongman Challenge will allow you to skip the politics and win an invitation to the 2011 World’s Strongest Man contest based solely on your performance.

“Feeling lucky?” No need for that because if you’re good enough, the Sin City Strongman Challenge could open the door to a World’s Strongest Man invitation for you. IronMind® | Artwork courtesy of Callie Marunde Best.

Here’s how it works.

Callie Marunde Best told IronMind today, “It’s an open contest, so anyone can enter.  The winner is guaranteed an invitation to a Giant Live contest and we are paying their way to it."

Giants Live is the official qualifying tour for the World’s Strongest Man contest, so if you’re feel strong and would like to be in next year’s World’s Strongest Man contest, here’s your ticket.

The contest is March 19 - 20, starting at Las Vegas’s Gold Spike Hotel & Casino on Saturday and finishing at the Hogs & Heifers Saloon on Sunday.

Saturday’s events:

• Farmer’s walk: 365-lb./hand
• Deadlift: 705 lb. for reps
• Stone over the Bar: 380 lb. for reps
• Keg Carry: 330 lb. for maximum distance

Sunday’s events:

• Tire Flip: 900 lb.
• Yoke: 1,000 lb.
• Overhead Medley: 200-lb. Monster dumbbell, 270-lb. keg, 225-lb. Atlas Stone, 341-lb. Log, 363-lb. Axle
• Harley Pull & Drag: 1,000 lb.

“We are bridging the gap,” Callie said, explaining that this was a way for another American strongman to get to a Giants Live contest and then could advance to the World’s Strongest Man contest.

Stay tuned for more details.
