Pedro Antonio Tamayo Jiménez (21, 6’ 2’, 220 lb.) has just been certified on the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper, a world-class feat of grip strength. Pedro told IronMind, “My main goal is to have one of the strongest grips in Latin America—little by little to be better every day and to become someone prominent in the grip sports . . . I really don't consider myself to be naturally strong, but with perseverance the results come sooner or later, so don't give up and if I can do it, everyone can.” ” IronMind® | Photo courtesy of Pedro Antonio Tamayo Jiménez Pedro Antonio Tamayo Jiménez (21, 6’ 2’, 220 lb.) has just been certified on the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper, a world-class feat of grip strength. Closing the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper is the most famous feat of grip strength in the world (and one of the best known overall), and here’s the latest conquerer: Baja California’s Pedro Antonio Tamayo Jiménez.

Pedro told IronMind, “I saw videos of grippers . . . and love it, so I bought CoC No. 3, 3.5 and 4 to train harder . . . I [had] trained with another gripper [and] for this reason I closed the CoC No. 3 the first time, but wasn’t a CCS (credit card set), just a deep set.

“I like to train with Fatgripz and grippers. Usually I do circuits lifting truck brakes with one hand, then I use CoC to do negatives and improve on this. Generally, I do negatives with CoC No. 3.5 and the last time I’ve been training the credit card set.

“I like to arm wrestle with my friends and schoolmates, so I always use my hand to do anything.

“I am a mechanical engineering student and I enjoy training. It helps me get rid of problems and stress. My main goal is to have the greatest grip strength in Latin America and little by little to be better every day and to become someone prominent in the grip sports.

“As a child I played a lot with my childhood friends: I liked climbing trees, pulling the rope, playing with the handrail, etc.; That helped me a lot to have decent grip strength for my age. I have been practicing armwrestling with my classmates since high school, and that helped me strengthen my tendons and grip strength.

I started training with hand grippers almost 2 years ago, and a year ago with the CoC grippers, which helped me progress a lot since I gave greater importance to grip training and that motivated me a lot to try the certification.

I really don't consider myself to be naturally strong, but with perseverance the results come sooner or later, so don't give up and if I can do it, everyone can. I am currently studying mechatronics engineering and I am passionate about electronics and training in general," said Pedro.
