Mark Viehweg has just been certified on the IronMind Crushed-To-Dust Challenge, proving he has superior all-around grip strength.
“I am 6’2”, 215 lbs., and 59 years old,” Mark told IronMind. “It’s to late for inexperience to be an excuse to not doing something.
The Crushed-To-Dust Challenge has three elements:
• closing a Captains of Crush® No. 2 gripper
• lifting 20 kg on an IronMind Hub
• lifting 90 kg on a Rolling Thunder®
This is a quick, fun and effective way to test for and demonstrate superior all-around grip strength.
“My passions are strength training along with outdoor pursuits focused on procuring wild organic protein by hunting and fishing.
“I began to focus on grip strength about 20 years ago to improve my shooting ability with my longbow. What began as an assist to another endeavor became the focus of a good portion of my training. I still like to do squats, dumbbell power clean and presses, pull-ups, farme’s walks, sand bag lifting, kettlebells, etc., with grip training included in each workout.
“Variety keeps me fresh with a focus on full body movements,” Mark said.
Congratulations, Mark—it’s official and your name has been added to the official certification list for the Crushed-To-Dust Challenge. IronMind would like say a special thanks to Alan Barch Jr. for so ably serving as the referee on Mark’s official attempt to complete this challenge.
