March MILO is Here!
by Randall J. Strossen/IronMind Enterprises, Inc.
MILO 22-4 cover: North Korea's Om Yun Chol burst into the limelight when he won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics, a feat made even more memorable because he had lifted in the B session and his performance included a 168-kg clean and jerk, putting the 56-kg competitor into the super-elite club of triple bodyweight clean and jerkers. Next up for Om were the 2013 Asian Weightlifting Championships and the 2013 World Weightlifting Championships, both of which he won. Then in 2014, he won the Asian Games (with a performance that included a world record 170-kg clean and jerk) and a few weeks later, he made this do-or-die 168-kg clean and jerk to successfully defend his World Weightlifting Championships title. Not a bad couple of years for Om Yun Chol: five major contests and he won all of them.  Randall J. Strossen photo
