If you can crush raw potatoes with your bare hands or want to find out how strong your grip really is, or if you want to see some of the strongest-handed people on the planet in action, plan to be at the Los Angeles FitExpo this Sunday (January 27).
As part of the Odd Haugen Strength Classic, grip strength will take center stage with the Rolling Thunder World Championships, the Apollon’s Axle World Championships and likely world record attempts on the Captains of Crush (CoC) Silver Bullet Hold.
Armlifting USA’s Riccardo Magni told IronMind, “There will be a top-class field competing in Los Angeles this Sunday for the Rolling Thunder World Championships and the Apollon's Axle Deadlift World Championships.
“The men’s super heavyweight class is loaded, with Roman Penkovskiy and Alexey Tyukalov coming in from Russia to compete against Carl Myerscough and Odd Haugen. Throw in John Machnik, who is in fantastic shape, and rising strongman star Martins Licis, and huge weights will be lifted.
“In the 100-kg class, watch for Canadian star Eric Roussin, yours truly, and wild card Steve Millard from Colorado.
“The women's class is up for grabs, with Julia Williams, Nadia Solis, and Stephanie Herr looking to reach the podium,” said Magni
Also setting the stage, Odd Haugen said, “It’s a tough field and I expect some big numbers from several athletes, and there may be a surprise entry by a multi-time World’s Strongest Man winner."
