“The power of my hands is my hobby,” David Shamey told IronMind and to show how serious and accomplished he is, Shamney has just been certified on both the Captains of Crush (CoC) No. 3 and the Captains of Crush No. 3.5 grippers.

22-year old David Shamey says he doesn’t have a formal gripper training routine: “I close [them] when I want and how much I want.” A student at the Belgorad State University, and the Russian student armwrestling champion as well as a Russian strongman in the under 105-kg category.

Shamey has been training on grippers for six years, saying, “CoC grippers were recommended to me to develop fingers for armwrestling. The first time I closed the No. 1 more than 20 times. I plan to close the CoC No. 4 in the future.”
