A diesel locomotive driver by profession, Andrey Fligin (Russia) has proven his world-class grip strength by officially closing the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper.

Fligen told IronMind that he began grip training in 2012, and succeeded in closing the Captains of  Crush No. 2 and the Captains of Crush No. 2.5 grippers that year.

Training every four days, Fligen said he does a warm-up set of 10 reps and “always try to squeeze the expander [gripper] that I can’t [fully close].” Gym work is also part of Fligen’s training routine.
