16-year old Ace Gustin (USA) broke the world record for the Teenage Max Weight Rolling Thunder Pull-up with a successful 99.74 kg (219.90 lb.) effort.
“I've been competing in grip sports with my dad since 2020 in the King Kong international competition,” Gustin told IronMind. "I've never been extremely into weight lifting, but I do play basketball and football so I work out for those sports.
“During those workouts and this pull-up I like listening to loud music because it pumps me up more.
“I feel like farming, working on engines, and splitting wood have really helped my grip strength because I'm using my hands so much. I enjoy grip strength sports because it's so much of having usable strength and just giving it your all,” Gustin said.
