I was happy to have 25 athletes from 6 different countries at our championship competing at a very high level.
The contest was held in the context of a strength sports festival of the city of Purgstall (Austria) with also other strength sports contests like Bavarian Stonelifting and Mas Wrestling so we had also a great audience watching this spectacle!
We had also the first time in Austria a women’s class in this sport and saw also great results there!

The winners and new European Armlifting Champions 2016 are:
Men
-90kg Juha Lehtimäki (Finland)
-105kg Thomas Larsen (Norway)
+105kg and also Overall Champion Eirik Bruun Ingebretsen (Norway)
Women
Anu Rytkönen (Finland)
Last but not least, we also had one successful official attempt to close a Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper before the beginning of the championship from Lucas Lindberg (Finland), and a successful Crushed-to-Dust Challenge from Eirik Bruun Ingebretsen (Norway), while Juha Lehtimäki (Finland) failed marginally on the Crushed-to-Dust Challenge.
We had also new world record attempts at the IronMind Blockbuster Pinch Grip Block for the men (Thomas Larsen, the former world record holder in this discipline) and women (Anu Rytkönen), but both failed marginally.
