Sezer Wins the 62s

Antalya, Turkey–To the delight of the Turkish fans filling the competition hall at the 2012 Europoean Weightlifting Championships last night, Bunyamin Sezer delivered a convincing performance, ending the evening with a gold medal in the snatch, silver in the jerk and gold in the total,

Not all was rosy for the Turkish weightlifting team, however, as Hursit Atak was sidelined by severe cramps in his quads and hamstrings that kept him lifting.
Cyprus hinted that more will be heard from Dimitris Minasidis, who got a bronze medal in the snatch (130 kg), one kilo behind Florin Croitoru (Romania). Also impressing was Stoyan Enev (Bulgaria), who won the gold medal in the clean and jerk with a successful 160-kg lift on the last attempt of the class.
