Whit Baskin (USA) and Janne Virtanen (FIN) got off to perfect starts in the qualifying heats for the 1999 "World's Strongest Man" (WSM) TV show, which began today in Malta. Two events were contested today, in each heat, and Baskin and Virtanen won both events in their respective heats.
