In the wake of yesterday's widely-distributed press release from the NSAA, speculation initially cast this as merely a name change, and then the rumor started that AFSA is now defunct. In fact, both assumptions are wrong. Speaking today, AFSA president Manfred Hoeberl confirmed that the formation of NSAA is the effort of his former employees, who are now operating independently of AFSA, but that he will be staffing a new office in Las Vegas shortly. Hoeberl said that AFSA already has its Full Strength Challenge 2000 series planned, with a minimum of five events, and that, once again, there will be an emphasis on international events.
