Atlantic Giant '99: Day 1...

The first day of IFSA's Atlantic Giant '99 strongman competition ended with Finland's Jouko Ahola in first place with 27 points. Hometown hero and contest organizer/promoter Regin Vagadal (Faroe Islands) is in second place with 26 points, and the '98 "World's Strongest Man" winner, Magnus Samuelsson (Sweden) is in third place with 23 points. Vagadal won today's loading event, Ahola won the deadlift, Samuelsson won the Husafell stone, as well as the weight carry. The contest concludes tomorrow.
